On Tuesday (February 15), organizers announced the lineup for the 2011 Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, set for June 9-12 in Manchester, Tennessee. And, boy, it's going to be interesting to hear the purists' take on this year's bill.
Browse photos of the 2011 Bonnaroo performers.
Unlike earlier, decidedly crunchy editions of the fest, the 2011 lineup is topped by two of the hugest hip-hop acts in the business — Eminem and Lil Wayne — along with newly crowned Grammy champs Arcade Fire and the Black Keys. Other acts on the bill include Mumford & Sons, the Strokes, the Decemberists, Florence and the Machine, Big Boi, Wiz Khalifa and Robyn.
Of course, there are still some nods to Bonnaroo's roots: Fest vets Widespread Panic return once again, as do My Morning Jacket and the String Cheese Incident. Also doing their part for the traditionalists out there are reunited legends Buffalo Springfield (in their only festival performance), Robert Plant and the Band of Joy, and Dr. John and the Original Meters, who will perform their 1974 album Desitively Bonnaroo, from which the festival took its name.
As in previous years, there will be an epic super-jam, this one organized by Dan Auerbach of the Black Keys and Dr. John.
Other artists set to appear at the 10th annual Bonnaroo include Ray LaMontagne, Iron and Wine, Girl Talk, Primus, Explosions in the Sky, Deerhunter, the Walkmen, Sleigh Bells and Smith Westerns. All in all, some 150 bands will perform at this year's fest.
Tickets for Bonnaroo 2011 go on sale Saturday, February 19 at 12 p.m. ET through the festival's official website.

B.o.B Promises Paramore Collabo If He Wins A Grammy
'If I win ... I will make a song with Paramore,' the rapper tells MTV News after learning of his five nominations.

B.o.B certainly had that "magic" this year. The rapper got five Grammy nominations for his various efforts with everyone from Bruno Mars to Eminem to Paramore's Hayley Williams. So, how does it feel to get all those nods?
"I feel like being nominated for a Grammy is something that's more about the music to me than anything else," he told MTV News after all the potential winners were announced. "It's great. It's just like a party. It's like being in the locker room after a football game that you won."
B.o.B's nominations include Record of the Year, Best Rap/Sung Collaboration and Best Rap Song for his Bruno Mars collabo "Nothin' on You," as well as Best Pop Collaboration With Vocals for "Airplanes, Part II" with Eminem and Williams and Best Rap Album for The Adventures of Bobby Ray. Regarding his nods for "Nothin' on You," B.o.B said, "Bruno's the truth, man. I'm glad we're both nominated. It's awesome."
Now, B.o.B admits that he doesn't care which Grammy he takes home ... as long as he wins one. "Hey, I'm nominated for a Grammy, so whatever category to go home with a Grammy is an accomplishment in itself," he maintained. "It can be a 'Most F-sharps Played on an Album' Grammy nomination.
As for who might take home the most awards at the event, he said, "I think that I don't know, honestly. You never know with these things. They're quite the elusive type of prediction to make. I can't really say ... hopefully me," he laughed.
And, if he does manage to snag one of the coveted trophies, he has a big promise to fulfill. "If I win, I'll make another song with Hayley Williams," he said. "No, if I win I'll make a song with Paramore, if I win ... if I win a Grammy, I will make a song with Paramore."
The 53rd annual Grammy Awards air February 13 on CBS at 8 p.m. ET/PT.

What Should Natalie Portman, Anne Hathaway Wear To The Oscars?
Fashion experts weigh in on some of the trends they expect to see at this year's Academy Awards show, which takes place this Sunday.

For Hollywood stars attending the Academy Awards, the days leading up to the big show this Sunday likely are filled with fittings, meetings with stylists and major decisions about what they will wear. With so many big names up for awards at this year's event, MTV News wanted to know what some of the Oscars fashion trends will be.
We caught up with fashion-industry maven and People's Revolution founder, Kelly Cutrone, and Faran Krentcil, digital director at Nylon magazine, and asked them to weigh in on what they believe will light up the red carpet at this year's ceremony. Krentcil predicts that the big trends will be color and American designers. Cutrone, who says that blue and lavender will be popular, also wants to see lots of American designers' creations on display.
Regarding first-time Oscar nominee Hailee Steinfeld, the ladies had a very specific idea of what the teen should wear to the show. "She's not a trend yet, but she will be," Krentcil admitted. "Her Golden Globe and SAG Awards looks were incredible, and the girl is only 14! She's one to watch on the fashion front, for sure. I wouldn't be surprised if by next year, she's got a high-fashion campaign like Miu Miu."
Cutrone noted that the "True Grit" star should go for "short, super fun and nothing overpowering. She should be the pixie and we don't need to bury her in too much dress." She added, "I think that Michelle Williams needs to step it up. She needs to dress it up. She needs to hit it. I think she needs to go from pixie to sexy," noting that Williams should pass the pixie throne to Steinfeld.
Faran joked about the Oscars' two young co-hosts, "Anne Hathaway will wear Valentino. James Franco will wear Anne Hathaway."
Meanwhile, Cutrone had more specific advice for the female emcee for the night. "I think she should wear an American designer. I think she should keep it really elegant and have an Audrey Hepburn moment — a great, very clean moment," she said. "[She should wear] red, white or black; really simple. She needs to look really pulled together. She really should step it up."
As for Best Actress Oscar nominee and mom-to-be, Natalie Portman, Cutrone thinks that her look will be the most talked about for years to come. "She will have one of the most memorable maternity outfits ever," she predicted. "It will live on like a Princess Grace of Monaco sort of image."
Will it be a regal evening for "The King's Speech"? Can "The Social Network" dial up Oscar gold? Don't miss MTV News' "2011 Oscars Live" at 6 p.m. Sunday, February 27, when we'll be chatting with your favorite Hollywood stars live from the red carpet on MTVNews.com, and stick with us all Oscar night for winners, interviews, photos and more!

Justin Bieber's 'Never Say Never' Re-Release: Five Secrets Revealed
Director Jon M. Chu reveals more about the 40 minutes of new footage fans will see this weekend.
By Eric Ditzian

By now, most citizens of Bieber nation have undoubtedly canceled all weekend plans, purchased advance tickets for the super-size version of "Never Say Never," and are plotting the most stress-free path toward the multiplex to catch the revamped film's arrival in 3-D theaters on Friday (February 25).
But what exactly will you find up on the big screen when you slip on those purple 3-D glasses just three weeks after the original flick debuted? Team Bieber has promised over half an hour of new Justin-approved video, including fresh performances, footage from pre-release screenings and further glimpses at Justin's downtime with his pals.
That's a little vague for our liking, so we hit up director Jon M. Chu for some insight into what's being touted as a "Director's Fan Cut." While Chu lamented that he didn't get a chance to shoot Bieber's fresh haircut in 3-D for the revamped flick, he did reveal five secrets to keep an eye out for when the new "Never Say Never" arrives in theaters.
There Are 40 Minutes of New Footage, Not 30
In a YouTube video announcement, Chu told fans that the new version would include 30 minutes of new footage. But a subsequent Paramount press release pegged the number at 40 minutes. So which is it?
"That was my mistake!" laughed Chu. "I didn't time it out. I was like, 'I'll just say over 30 minutes, and we'll be good to go. But they timed it and it is 40 minutes. The point is, there's a crapload of stuff in there.
"We originally had a two-and-a-half-hour version of the movie, which we obviously couldn't release," he added. "So we started to think about putting stuff back in that didn't have to do with our story but that we knew people would love."
"Omaha Mall" Is Coming for You
This rock/rap tune became a fan favorite after Bieber posted it on YouTube, and the reworked "Never Say Never" will pull back the curtain on the song's creation for the first time on the big screen.
"We see the creation of 'Omaha Mall' and how that came to be," Chu told us. "We also get to see way more baby videos. We sit on a lot more shots, so it's like you're sitting with him in the living room, just watching."
Get Ready for Bieber's Abs
"Twilight" fans know what to expect when they hit the multiplex for the first viewing of a franchise film: Taylor Lautner without a shirt on. But Beliebers may have been surprised — and, no doubt, delighted — to sit down for "Never Say Never" and be treated to scene after scene of Justin sans T-shirt. When it comes to the new version, fans should expect even more skin.
"I can't confirm nor deny those reports, but we do what the fans want," Chu laughed. "If that's what the fans want, then they'll get a little bit more. Maybe some abs!"
You'll Truly See What It's Like to Be Bieber's Buddy
Such is the effect of Bieber Fever that the singer's friends, Ryan Butler and Chaz Somer, have become stars in their own right. And while they pop up a bit in the movie, Chu said that fans couldn't get enough of these two Canadian teens.
"Chaz and Ryan have their own followings, and one of the biggest pieces of feedback we got is that fans want more Chaz and Ryan," the director said. "In this version, we get to see what it's like to be part of the entourage. We go to their homes in Stratford. People call from all around the world and disrupt their dinners. It's absolutely insane. They're superstars."
Hello, "Favorite Girl"!
While the re-cut flick introduces 40 minutes of new footage, the overall running time is only 10 minutes longer. So what did Chu cut? He took out Bieber's lengthy, pre-MSG visit to the doctor, added in new scenes of tickets being given away outside concerts and swapped out some performances that didn't make it into the original release.
"Before we had to make a choice between 'Favorite Girl' and 'Never Let You Go,' because they're the same [in-concert] set-up with the heart," he said. "We couldn't play both. So this time, we made the choice to have 'Favorite Girl,' which is one of my favorite songs that he plays. People are going to love it."

Grammys Score Best Ratings In A Decade
Performances by Justin Bieber, Eminem, Lady Gaga, more draw 26.5 million viewers.
By Gil Kaufman
Justin Bieber and Usher perform at the Grammys on Sunday

It stands to reason that any TV show boasting performances from bands that have sold more than 15 million records over the past year between them would be a huge hit. Which is why, thanks to Eminem, Lady Antebellum, Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga and Katy Perry, Sunday night's 53rd annual Grammy Awards posted the best numbers for the program in a decade.
The Hollywood Reporter reported Monday (February 14) that, according to preliminary numbers from Nielsen, the show was watched by 26.5 million viewers, a 3 percent improvement over last year's Grammy numbers (25.8 million) and the best figure for the show since 2001.
The combination of a relentlessly hyped Gaga interview that aired on "60 Minutes" just before the show, combined with a smorgasbord of performing stars that ranged from legends such as Bob Dylan and Mick Jagger to Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, Bruno Mars, a rare appearance by hip-hop icon Dr. Dre and surprise Album of the Year winners Arcade Fire helped make the show a must-see event.
And though viewers were treated to the spectacle of Gaga finally busting out of her space egg during the show, Green frolicking with outer-space Henson Puppets and Gwyneth Paltrow, and Bieber dancing amid a stage full of break-dancing ninjas, when the dust settled, the dark-horse win by Arcade Fire provided the show with a water-cooler moment that kept viewers interested until the entire three-and-a-half-hour spectacle wrapped up.

Adele Says 21 Has People Thinking 'I'm Sort Of A Manic-Depressive'
But the British sensation, whose album hits stores in the U.S. on Tuesday, says she just writes somber songs.
By James Montgomery
Adele's 21
Photo: Columbia Records
Adele is sitting 29 floors above Times Square, eyes tilted toward the ceiling as a makeup artist dabs away, lamenting her early morning (she performed Friday, February 18, on the "Today" show) and laughing that her handlers are trying to kill her.
"I'm not allowed any caffeine, because it dehydrates the throat, and I had laryngitis about a month and a half ago, so I've had to cut all these things out to make sure it doesn't happen again," she smiles, turning her head toward her publicist. "So I had to get up at 10 to 4, go over to the ['Today'] studio, and while everyone else was drinking their delicious black coffee, everyone was doing Starbucks runs, and I was asking for hot water. It was so boring."
And it's a bit of a shame that Adele, now 22 and two years removed from her upset wins at the 51st Grammy Awards, is being denied coffee, because she certainly needs it. On Tuesday, she'll release her sophomore album, the jaw-dropping 21 (so named because it reflected her very tumultuous 21st year on earth) here in the States. Thanks to a tidal wave of critical acclaim — and stirring singles like "Rolling in the Deep" — she has already been tipped as the year's can't-miss act. She recently filmed an episode of VH1's "Unplugged," and in May, she'll launch a full-blown tour of the U.S.
But for right now, she's enjoying the moment (even without caffeine), delighting in the reviews she's gotten here in the U.S. ("In the States, even a bad review is like a five-star U.K. review," she laughs) and trying very hard not to believe the hype — which, if you know anything about her, is a lot easier than you might think.
"I think people think I'm, like, sort of a manic-depressive. I think they think I'm very somber and very moody and take myself very seriously, but I think that's just because [of] the kind of records I write," she says. "But also, like, everyone is a bit moody and somber sometimes, just that I write about mine, so therefore it's magnified. I'm no more depressed than any other 21-, 22 year-old-girl when someone leaves them, you know?"
And it should be noted that she has absolutely no problem discussing that depression, which came at the end of a relationship with a man "who meant everything to her" and influenced just about every aspect of 21, from kiss-offs like "Deep" and "Rumour Has It" to heartbreaking album-closer "Someone Like You."
"Well, I wrote that song because I was exhausted from being such a bitch, with 'Rolling in the Deep' or 'Rumor Has It,' " she laughs. "I was really emotionally drained from the way I was portraying him, because even though I'm very bitter and regret some parts of it, he's still the most important person that's ever been in my life, and 'Someone Like You,' I had to write it to feel OK with myself and OK with the two years I spent with him. And when I did it, I felt so freed."
Empowered by that freedom, she was able to return to her (relatively) normal life, one that, despite the accolades and the chart-topping success back home in the U.K. (and most of Europe), she says isn't all that different from any other 22-year-old's existence, despite what you might have gathered from her music.
"Whenever I meet anyone, whether it's someone I'm working with or a fan or something, they can never link me with the person they think I am," she says. "But I like that. I'm 22, I'm sarcastic, very boisterous and cheeky. I like to have a bit of a joke."
Are you looking forward to Adele's new album? Let us know in the comments!
